Afraid not - no beta exists. The polls plugin requires SP version 5.1.2 which is slated to be released this coming weekend. The polls plugin will be released shortly thereafter.

holy crap.. I have to activate the poll feature on every individual forum? I have 115 forums.. I don't supposed there's an easier way to do this?

OK - well - 115 is significantly more than the average forum! 
I think for the vast majority of users having to specify at forum level which forums can have polls is just fine. But I appreciate that for someone with the rather staggering number of 115 then things are different. You could, of course, do this in the database directly by changing the value in he 'polls' column from zero to 1 (sfforums table)

My 40 forums suddenly feels very tiny.
