Sounds like you are trying to put these in the WP plugins folder which wont work. SP has it's own. Please see these guidelines for details:

Hi

Thanks. I have now set up the Poll Plugin and when I go to create a new topic the 'Add A Poll' button is visible but when I click on it nothing happens?
