wp roles and sp usergroups are two completely distinct entities... though you can tie them together...

have you configured all your settings per:  http://codex.simple-press.com/.....-by-email/

one key is one email address per forum...

How do I tie them together?  I didn't see that option.   Thanks for the link, checking it now.

Indeed - you can create as many forum User Groups as you need. And you can map them in the User Groups section of the forum admin - Map Users to User Groups

Mapped the users to the usergroups.  Still not posting the reply email to the form.  I'm sure it's something simple that's staring right at us!

The error log doesn't show anything.  The last entry is weeks ago.  IF there was an error, shouldn't it be showing up there?

I did ask way, way back what you see when you try the test connection?

these are standalone emails addresses right?  one per forum...  no one else is reading emails from these addresses, right?

so when you post by email, when sp processes the email, it will leave some sort of message in the log... the post by email log, not the error log...  what does it say for a test?

if you really see nothing there, go to your email address with a webmail client and see if there is email in the inbox... dont remove it or read it with a client that will rmeove it...

btw, how are you replying to emails here?  you seem to be not following the directions for removing stuff below the line and including some cruft with your post...
