Well I suppose that's a good question... the logins are all gmail usernames. For example, videoquestions@howtofightnow.com can be typed into gmail, and you will effectively log into the account.
These are all accounts that have been set up using google apps for business.
My MX servers are hosted with gmail, so the setting shout be identical as far as I know. Otherwise, where would I get my settings from?
I was able to get the mail settings to connect!!!!!!
Saaaweeeeeeeeeet!
I did notice that the email I receive as far as my forum notifications are concerned did not offer me the ability to reply via email.
I have it set to notify me of all new posts, but I'm not seeing the reply option.
one by one issues are being solved!
which notifications? admin or subscription?
is it for user or admin? there are two permissions: can reply by email, can create topic via email (or similar)... are they enabled?
for other potential users with same issue, can you post your final email settings here?

Admin notifications.... can I set this to work with admin notifications? I haven't tried with subscriptions.
Everyone else can go to the site... that's kinda the point actually.... recurring traffic for SEO purposes. It would be easier for everyone to generate conversation, but then I wouldn't get the hits, page depth, etc.
If you don't allow this on admin notifications, you REALLY SHOULD. everyone is posting in the forum for my opinion on stuff... I pretty much need to be responding to every post... subscription or not :-/
we do allow it on admin notifications and subscriptions... just trying to gather info to understand your issue... need data in order to understand and troubleshoot...
When you say you are not allowed to reply by email, what tells you this? the notification email? other?

Incidentally, my replies to you tonight have mostly been from email to admin notifications...
