Private Message plugin not displaying PM link in posts or anywhere

I am using the PM plugin and the PM icon is not displaying on the posts like it is here
I see the location it checks. The plugin is active.
if (function_exists('sp_PostIndexSendPm')) sp_PostIndexSendPm('tagClass=spButton spRight', __sp('PM'), __sp('Send PM to this user'));

Have you given your users permission to use the pm capabilities?

Ahh. found that now. maybe a note in that plugin to remind users to update permission sets.
