'Private Messaging' displaying PM option from user area on topic view?

So, I've installed the PM system and turned it on but I can only seem to get to the compose option by going to the PM area from the top nav.

I assumed there would be an option in the user section of the topicview to send that posts author a PM. Can that option be turned on, or indeed added if it isn't currently an option?

You will need to grant your users the permission to use PMs before that will happen.
