Hello,

I am running two different websites on the same hosting account. Domain 1 got IP.Board installed and domain 2 got a fresh Simple-Press forum installed. No users are existing on the Simple-Press side.

Using the Simple-Press data import plugin, results in a Error: Unable to query USERS using the db settings supplied...

All required data are filled in with 'Let WordPress create random passwords' feature ticked.

Can someone help me out?

Thanks

Edit: using IP.Board 3.4.5 and latest version of WP and Simple-Press

Normally that would simply suggest that one or other of your parameters are incorrect for the invision database... Basically, it can't connect to the database.

Should both forums on the same domain?

No necessary. It just needs each database to be in the same mySQL server.

You may send me a copy of the IPB database if you think that would help. But this is normally an error with the values you have filled in on the importer form so me having the DB isn't really going to help much.

You could give me access to your site so that I can try and run the import for you but you will then also need to provide full database access details, database names etc. And I would have to say at the outset that I could take no responsibility for the results!

But if that is of interest then please PM credentials to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.

And in this case, of course, database access credentials and information.
