Problem with Poll Plugin (only first response able to vote)

Hello -

Once I create a poll, the first user/member to vote is able to do so and it will register.  However, thereafter, the option to vote is no longer available for any subsequent user.

I did a search on this forum and did not find anyone else with this same problem.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Under the poll options, I only changed the default number of months to expire to one (originally had it at the default of zero)....and I changed the colors.

Under permissions, I have it set to standard with the ability to vote in a forum poll and the ability to create a poll within a post (I changed these back and forth, too)

For the vote itself, I tried it a couple different ways......can only vote once....and can vote 50 times.

The ability for my polls to only take one vote (and subsequently not take any more votes) occurred at the admin, user, and moderator levels.

The site is still a test site and I have the forum completely private.  Do I need to make the forum public and then send you the link, or will you just register as a new user?

Here is the link to the forum (which I have a few other questions for, but will start them in a different thread) http://www.themoustachenation......age_id=247

Thanks

not really what I was asking...  on forum - polls - options, what do you have for the tracking options... the voter tracking and cookie timeout...

please pm myself and yellow swordfish a temp user account and we can take a look...  please be sure to reference this thread in the pm...

Ok, that was it.  On the tracking options, I left it at the default setting.... "Cookie and IP."  The cookie expiration in seconds was left at "0."  I just changed it to "User ID" and the polls will take more than one vote now....

Thanks

sorry, mean to add that if you were doing the multiple votes from the same computer, then yes, the IP would match and you would have a voted cookie on your machine...

should have worked fine for your users though... and user id is best only if not allowing guests to vote... if guests can vote, you wont get tracking since they dont have a user id...

Interesting.  I was under the impression that two different computers (under the same network) would have different IP addresses.  I just checked....and I was wrong (I was using two different computers and they both have the same IP).

Thanks again!

They will have different local IP addresses within the domain of the local network, but the same address outside of that domain - i.e., when accessing the internet in any way.
