Problem with Spam Registration plugin -- List not correct

Hello,

I think there's a problem with this plugin with my installation.  In the "Users-Spam Registrations" interface I chose "Never visited the forums" then clicked on the "Show Spam Registrations" button, I get a list of about 160+ users (out of 250+) eligible for removal.  The thing is, I am *positive* that this list is not correct because some of the listed users I've seen visiting the forum, and some of those users were actual test accounts that I use to browse the forum.  This is also weird because I've set up my forum to automatically redirect to the forum page upon successful login, and I'm positive that many of those listed users have logged in (I have ThreeWP Activity Monitor running to see).

Moreover, when I choose the " " button, I get a list of 9 users -- all of whom are also in the "Never visited the forums" list, which can't be correct, right?

From what I can tell, the list that I get from the "Never visited the forums" is actually a list of those that have never posted in the forums even if they have already visited.

Is this a bug in the plugin or am I misunderstanding how it's supposed to work?

Well clearly we will need to perform some tests to see if something has been knocked but for the record I can tell you how it works...

When a new user registers they are given a post count of -1. When they first load a forum page, if the count is found to be -1 it is upped to 0. When they make their first post it goes, of course to 1.

So - the user selection in the spam reg tool will use a select clause of <0 for those who have never visited and <1 for those who have visited but never posted.

Now the only way I can see that not being accurate is if the bump from -1 to 0 is broken. As far as I am aware it is not but I will check it with some testing.

Question: is the post count field that this plugin queries the same as the post count field of Wordpress or do you use a separate "forum" post count versus WP's blog post count (if any)?  In my Dashboard's Users screen everyone (except me, who has blog posts) has zero post count, including those who have posted in the forum.

Don't know if this is relevant to the troubleshooting, but I'm including here my screen capture of the Spam Registrations screen as I see it -- the output looks suspiciously broken.  Those two lines that start with "where the user has never authored...") seems out of place.user-spam-registrations.pngImage Enlarger

I was referring to forum post counts.
And I am unsure what you mean by 'out of place'. Seems to read Ok to me...?

Oh, ok I get it now (what the "where the user has never authored..." part means).

Ok, I've looked at Users->Member Information to figure out the pattern and here's what I've seen:

1.  When I choose the first option (Never visited the forums), I get a list of a lot of people who:

   a. Have visited the forums but have no forum post

   b. Have never visited the forums

2.  When I choose the 2nd option (Visited but never posted in the forums), I get a list of people who:

   a. Have never visited the forums

You have only got to look at the logic in post 2 to realise that this is not really correct.

I will open up a ticket and get that changed. Needs to be changed to actual equals instead of less thans.

Ok, but apart from replacing less thans to equals, the logic seems swapped as well (as I described in my previous post).  The output I get from the plugin is:

Never visited -- outputs both never visited and never posted (which seems to imply select clause of <1 ?)

Visited but never posted -- outputs those who never visited (which seems to imply select clause of <0 ?)
