Problem with Spam Registration plugin — List not correct

Yes I know. We used to notice a wave of fake registrations and then a period of calm before another wave came along.

Using the ‘math’ question on the registration form seemed to cut the numbers.

ok now that I updated, how do i remove all the spam accounts?

members stats on the forum still say over 11000 members but this isnt true anymore…how do i update?

The stats are cached with a refresh set for once an hour – unless you have changed that in the options. If they do not refresh after that time then it will mean your WP Cron is not functioning but usually it is simple to fix up

start by visiting the forum admin > toolbox > CRON Inspector and running the task in the bottom of that admin form – the task to run is sph_stats_cron. See if that rebuilds the stats.

i found the cron area but cant select anything..not really that easy to use..hmmm

well let’s check first. You are not supposed to ‘select’ anything anyway. What I wanted you to do was enter the term (or paste from this post above) into the Run CRON box at the bottom of the panel and then click on Update CRON.

is that what you did? if your membership count did not change then perhaps they are still there. What is the number of members reported in the sfmembers table of the database?

that message will be unrelated… but begs the question what version of SP are you on?  and the same for spam plugin…

thats what I did and still says over 11000 members..but worpress only says 2000
