This is the most interesting bit:
I lose the TinyMCE editor on my WP post editing screen. I also noticed that the popout menu items in the wordpress dashboard also stop working.
i think the first thing you need to do is check the error console for javascript errors. Firstly in the backend – say the dashboard itself – then on the WP write post page – then on a forum page.
The Firebug extension to Firefox is still the best tool for this but if not the Firefox error consolei is a good start. Open it – clear it out – run the page and see of anything gets reported. JUST the errors tab please.
