Support Forum
Hi,
The "Recent Posts" widget works fine as long as I am logged in as a member on my blog. However, when I logout, it doesn't show any recent posts at all..
That makes the forum look "dead" to people who visit my site and don't log into their user account. That's not good... Why should they login when there seems to be no forum activity?.
Can this be fixed?
Did I miss a configuration setting?
Marc
It suggests that 'guests' - or not logged in visitors - have no permission to view any forum details.
The recent posts tag and widget are personalised to the current user. The listing will take into account topics and posts already read by the current user as well as what permissions they have to view specific forums. In other words what you see in the list may well be different to someone else. If 'guests' have no permission to view anything then the list will be empty. WP will only identify a user when they log in.

OK, now I'm trying to give guests "read only" rights for the forum. How do I do that?
I can see the "Read Only Access" under Permissions and I can see "Guests" under User Groups. But how to I assign the permission to a user group?
Must be obvious, for sure. But I just don't see it...
