How did I not know about the enhanced Search Plugin?
Looks great! Unfortunately, it's not working for us...
I activated "Search" plugin, checked it's options, and performed a search, checking Include Blog Posts.
Forum results displayed as expected.
Clicking Blog Search Results resulted in only: "A Suspect Request has been Rejected"
I replicated the issue on our dev install and live site:
WordPress Version 5.0.3 (WP Multisite, Main Site)
SimplePress Version: 6.0.6 Build: 15852
Search Plugin Version 2.0
There are no errors in the SimplePress toolbox, nor our server error logs. Nothing in mod_sec logs indicates something was blocked by ModSecurity.
Has this plugin been tested with WordPress Multisite?

On a related note, the Include Blog Posts option remained in the Advanced Search even after deactivating the Search plugin. Only after deleting the Search plugin did the option disappear from the expanded search box.

Hi:
We can confirm the first bug and have a fix for it. You can apply the fix yourself if you like by going to the wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/search/classes folder and editing file sp-search-blog-view-class.php.
- Go to line #222.
- Change the function call from "integer" to "str'.
In the image below you can see the change. The red line is the old line; the green line is the new one:
We'll push a new version of the plugin out the door in the near future but if you feel up to it, this manual edit should resolve the issue for you.
Regarding the second issue about deactivating - we could not reproduce that issue. I suspect it's a caching issue. If you deactivate the plugin and then press CTRL-F5 in your browser window, the BLOG option should disappear from the advanced search section.
Thanks

This is working great now.
Since you'll be rolling out a plugin update, I wonder if you might consider the following:
Open Blog search result links in new tab, or add option to Search plugin settings for doing so.
Some less technical users may get lost with the blog opening up in the same window.
Not sure how difficult either of these may be, so feel free to disregard this feature request if difficult to implement.
Thanks again!

Hi - thanks for the idea. I have added it to our ideas list. But I don't think we'll be able to get it done for the next release. Right now enhancements are focused on other existing plugins plus we have two new plugins in the pipeline for push notifications (via web browser and web apps) and AD scheduling.
Thanks again.
