When I click on the "Send PM" button in a post, I'm taken to the PM page but it doesn't scroll directly to the composer. The window position stays above the message inbox. So I need to scroll down to the composer first. Shouldn't this be automatically done using an anchor or something?
Yes, it should... and does in my testing... it should scroll to the Select Message Recipients section which is located at the top of the compose section that is normally hidden...
If this is not occurring for you, likely indicates some sort of js error or conflict... with the console of your browser open, do you see any errors listed after the page loads?

Hmm, just tested here on simple-press.com, and got the same problem here.. It looks like the window scrolls down to the compose section first, but then it's still loading the inbox (previously send and received messages). When these are loaded fully they push the compose section down the window again, so you need to scroll.
I have no jQuery conflicts.
scrolls down fine for me. What browser are you using?
oh, also, what size are you using for the inbox stuff? unlimited? guess I could see how that could affect that... in your profile - options - display options, try setting a max height for the pm messages... I use 600... should help you out with this...

I tried different browsers, chrome, safari, firefox (all on Mac). And using 600 wont make a difference because I have the same problem right here when trying to PM you. First it scrolls down to the right position, and after that previous pm's are loaded and showed so the compose window is pushed down again.
did you actually try setting it to 600? that limits the height of the pm inbox window... so it wont keep growing as things are loaded... this is a profile setting for you, not a forum setting...
Works fine for me here when I pm you or me... or anyone else...

hmmmm... bit perplexed as it doesnt do that for me... the extra threads and message are loaded after the page, but it just causes the scroll bars to become active in the inbox area - not to move the screen... and yes, I have plenty of threads and messages that force the scrollbars to come into play after page loading...
you do get those, right?
if I remove my size, I can get your effect... but not with the size...
doubt it would have anything to do with mac, but will have Andy take a look too... and run some more tests...
