Hi

I activated quite a few SP plugins but there are several listed below that refuse to appear for me:

TinyMCE, mentions, polls, post ratings.

I an admin could PM me, I’d be most grateful.

Thanks

what do you mean by plugins not appearing?  you say they are activated… so they appear in the sp plugin list, right?

for mentions, polls, and post ratings, have you enabled them on the forums you want to use?

see the specific plugin pages for more info:  http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/plugins/our-plugins/available-plugins/

also mentions does require tinymce so you will need to sort that first…

have you selected tinymce as the default editor?  see forum – options – global settings…

thanks for getting back to me.

Got polls and ratings working.Progress.

Went through guide for tinymce, but still not appearing on the forum for me and subsequently mentions isn’t either.

You may have a script conflict of some sort with the WP theme or another plugin. This can notoriously stop tinyMCE from working and other forum components.

This codex article explains what this means and what to look for:

http://codex.simple-press.com/codex/faq/troubleshooting/what-is-this-jquery-conflict/

If this is the issue then most usually it can be fixed up…

Agreed. I see nothing obvious. Did this use to work? Surely that forum has been running some time…did it work before with TinyMCE? And if so up until which point?

I think i really need to look at the site with TinyMCE activated if there is a chance you could do that for a brief time so I can look?

as mentioned earlier, you wont get mentions until you have tinymce…  and you didnt really answer my question about making it the default editor…

@Swordfish

Yes its been going sometime but on joomla with Kunena forum.

Ive migrated to SP in the last few days.

I have set tinyMCE as default now.

@Papa

sorry, I just said that I went through the guide on how to set up tinyMCE properly, but no luck as yet on getting it to show. Part of that was to ensure it was set as default.

Sent source code to Mr Swordfish as I couldn’t see anything glaringly obvious in the code that may cause conflict

Oh dear. I am sorry. i thought yesterday that I had noticed you allowed guest posting but I see today that is not the case. So I can not look at thing without logging in. Can you set up an account?

If so – lease PM credentials to both myself and to ‘Mr Papa’. Please include in the PM a link to your site, a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem. And one of us will take a look for you.

If you can do that quickly i will be here for a little longer this morning…

That’s done now.

It is Saturday so pls don’t be knocking yourself out on this issue at the weekend.

Anyway – its a closed forum to public and my members will be sleeping off the usual friday night late gaming session then getting up to game some more (Forum wont be touched probably til Monday). Life of a gamer :-)

No worries….

OK – this is weird as WordPress is not loading anything at all to do with TinyMCE yet your forum clearly knows it exists. And there are no errors being shown at all. Just a whole heap of support code and scripts not being loaded at all.

So – first question. If you can take a look on your server in the ‘forum-plugins’ folder – thre name of the tinymce plugin folder should be ‘tinymce-richtext’. Is that what it is – or does it have a number on the end. If it has a number can you please rename the folder and correct that.

No the forum-plugins folder. if you have not set up your own locations then by default SP plugins are sited at wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/

I have to say at the moment I am somewhat stumped. Let’s call in reinforcements…

Steve: Any ideas what might be going on here? I see no errors or obvious problems but WP (or SP) is loading no TinyMCE components at all… There is a huge number of scripts being loaded by nothing stands out as a potential problem… I will forward you the PM with login credentials

I changed your privileges on your account for the forum, so you are admins. Thought it might help. Thanks for all so far
