Support Forum
We're using the Subscriptions plugin and we've got some users who have been removed from a forum (they are still members of other forums on the site) and they are still receiving emails about posts from the forums they've been removed from.
User "Jim" is part of forum A and makes a post. He selects to be notified of new posts in this topic. 3 months down the road he ends his membership in our program and is removed from forum A. His user is not removed as he is still participating in other forums on the site. He can no longer see forum A and is not listed as a member of it. But he still receives notifications of new posts in the topics he posted to. Is this expected behaviour?
How do we stop these notifications from going out to Jim, while still keeping the notifications going for the forums he is still a member of?
Hey,
Firstly can we just cover a couple of things before looking to deeply, if thats OK..
Do the users who are still getting subscription emails actually show as being subscribed to the forums in question?
Are you running any kind of cache plugin?
Is everything up to date? WP, SP, plugins for both?
Of course.
This is where the topics in question are showing: https://www.evernote.com/shard.....de8578e5f5
We're hosted on Web Synthesis. We're not running any caching plugins, but the host might.
Everything is up to date. 4.0 & 5.5.1
can you explain what you mean by removed from a forum? Are they a member of any usergroups given membership on the forum? remember each forum is handled individually... there is a permission check to make sure they can subscribe to forum before an email is sent... if they have not memberships, please make sure that guests cannot subscribe either (dont think its allowed, but worth checking)...
