Simple:Press has a conflict with the plugin WP-Mail-SMTP. When members receive an HTML email generated by HTML EMails add-on (I have Subscriptions plugin as well), it does not replace the %POSTER% tag with the name of the poster. When I deactivate WP-Mail-SMTP, it works just fine.
(1) Do I need an SMTP Mail plugin for the site which sends out forum subscription emails? It was recommended in the past to ensure no blacklisting of the IP address and to ensure better delivery rates.
(2) Is there a SMTP plugin that plays nice with Simple:Press?
The site does not have a tremendous email load. Currently, we have 80 subscribers and there is about 1 post a day.
Thank you,
Ricki
That's quite a surprise. I can think of no logical reason why this should be so.
Well - we use this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/hgk-smtp/ - and we have not noticed or had reported any problem so maybe that would be worth a try.. It tends to be the one we always recommend when people have the problems that WP Mail often suffers from.
