Is there a plugin or setting I can use to stop threads from being bumped back to the top when a post is made on them ? I am making a for sale section on my forum and I would like to stop bumping of threads in that section only if possible.
Also, I see there is a plugin that the user can set a time for their threads to expire and delete after a specified time. Can I set that for a section so all threads delete or expire after a certain amount of time ?
as to topic expire, please check out our topic expire plugin... does pretty much what you want plus other options for what to do at expiration...
as to topic bumping, perhaps you want to sort that forum from oldest to newest.. instead of newest to oldest... you can set that on a forum by forum basis...
Visit Cruise Talk Central and Mr Papa's World
You can change all of them globally in the forum admin > Options > Global Display Settings. Or you can change the order for individual forums - or topics - using the forum tools. That's the little tools jcon that appears in each forum index row or topic index row...

Thank you
I just had my forum successfully transferred from Vbulletin using gconverters. As of right now, I have only two issues to deal with:
1. What is the procedure to make the text for the entire forum a little larger. It came through conversion a little small.
2. Is there anyway to merge sub forums into existing forums. After conversion I have about 15 sub forums that I am having trouble getting attached back to their original forums. They are all sitting in one big sub forum group at the bottom of my forum. I would really like to just merge some of them with other existing forums if I could
First off my apologies for you having to wait so long for a response.
On your first question then it rather depends on what Simple:Press theme you plan to use. If you can let me know that then I can help you with the best way to proceed.
On the second question, then under the forum admin > Forums section you will find the re-ordering tool which allows you to re-order but also promote/demote sub-forums and forums by drag and drop. You will also find the merge forums tool in that section. If you you use the latter then as always, it is safest to make a database backup first... but there are no known issues with the tools.
