Subscription Forum; Not seeing how users subscribe to forums?

I just updated Subscriptions plugin to 1.1, and turned on the setting for
"Allow members to subscribe to forums in addition to topics" in options menu.

But when I look at my forums, I don't see any way to subscribe to them.
Here's one of my forums: http://willowglencharm.com/cha...../favorites
(I just see the "Subscribe to RSS" but that's native not related to the plugin)

I don't see "subscribe to forum" in this support forum or others, but then I don't know if it/they have the plugin installed so maybe it's not supposed to be there.

Can somebody show me an example of what the user view is supposed to see, how it's supposed to work?

Thanks,
- Greg

Individual users can manage their own forum wide subscriptions - including digests if made available - in their SP profile - subscriptions panel.

Ah, OK. Thanks so much for explaining how it works.
(Breath of fresh air getting the help I need out of a support forum!)

I guess I'll have to add instructions encouraging people to do that, because I don't expect many people to spent much time playing around with their profile.

To whom should I make the feature request/suggestion of letting people subscribe to a forum from the forum page itself? Or at least make it so there's a direct URL for the "Forum Subscriptions" settings within the "Subscriptions" tab of the profile manager. Seems like the closest I can get people to where they need to be via a link is http://willowglencharm.com/chat/profile

Personally, I'd like to see the "Forum RSS" button/link become a dropdown that says "Subscribe to this Forum" and when you mouse over it you get the flyout options of email and RSS.

You can make that to me smileand the request is noted.

I don't really understand what you are saying here. On the users profile there should be a list of forums with checkboxes enabling them to tick then ones they wish to subscribe to... Are you not seeing that? If not - have you enabkled subscriptions in the permissions for your users?

Interestingly I have been toying with this sort of notion quite recently so you never know...

Yes I do see that when I get there, but the process is:
 1) Click "Profile" to see/edit your user profile
 2) Click "Subscriptions" tab
 3) Click "Forum Subscriptions" button

I'd like to tell people "Hey go subscribe to a forum!" and hyperlink them all the way to that screen where they could pick which forums they subscribed to, instead of linking them to the main profile management screen, (step 1, http://willowglencharm.com/chat/profile) and providing instructions for steps 2 and 3.

In fact, just getting them to that screen could be the action/goal of the "Subscribe to Forum" button that appears somewhere on the forum's page. Might be easier than adding a new process, I don't know.
