To answer your question: yes WordPress does send out lost password emails.

that last question asked by Andy concerned your subscription email you posted… it appears to be from our site…and is a subscription notification to this topic…

In post 14, you said you wiped out all the fields… is the check box also disabled?  the one at top right that says to use the email settings below?

how many emails would be going out at one time?  could your server be doing flood control?

Ah, good, sorry.

I still had the ‘use the following email settings’ switched on. Is now off.

So I am eagerly awaiting mails. All I have to do now, is induce somebody to post.

There’s only a few emails being set at a time, maybe 2 (if I am very lucky), so I guess ‘flooding’ is the least of my problems.

I’ll let you know how it goes.
