I have no personal knowledge of that plugin but I would expect it to work in a similar way. We only recommend HGK because we use it ourselves and can therefore vouch for it.

Yes - these are the email settings. These are the only email settings that SP maintains and they are entirely optional. By default WP sends out emails as coming from 'wordpress@' which many users do not like. These settings can override that and use standard WordPress filters - the API for doing this. So ensure the values are correct and/or try turning them off to see if that helps.

Okay, I turned all e-mail settings off (emptied the second column of the email settings). Hope I will get an email when someone posts...

Hi, since not a lot is happening on my forum, it took a while before I was sure someone posted something in the forums I subscribed to.

But now a few people did and alas, I received no email.... This saddens me, since a prompt response from my side could stimulate people to post...

Our WordPress installation does send out emails okay from other plug ins like Gravity forms.

I have wiped clean all the email address setting (second column) in the S:P options panel. All 3 fields are now empty.

What to do?

BR

I know nothing about how Gravity forms handles emails. More importantly does WordPress send out new user registration emails, lost password emails etc., assuming you use the core WP functions for this.

We honestly have no other users with a problem with subscription emails unless they have a general problem with them. So this does remain a unique situation which always points to a local, environmental issue of some sort.

Or this? It looks like some sort of subscription to a support forum... -Steve

Do you just mean that you are getting them from this thread here?

To answer your question: yes WordPress does send out lost password emails.

that last question asked by Andy concerned your subscription email you posted... it appears to be from our site...and is a subscription notification to this topic...

In post 14, you said you wiped out all the fields... is the check box also disabled?  the one at top right that says to use the email settings below?

how many emails would be going out at one time?  could your server be doing flood control?

Ah, good, sorry.

I still had the 'use the following email settings' switched on. Is now off.

So I am eagerly awaiting mails. All I have to do now, is induce somebody to post.

There's only a few emails being set at a time, maybe 2 (if I am very lucky), so I guess 'flooding' is the least of my problems. confused

I'll let you know how it goes.smile
