Hi,

I am using the current version of the Subscription plugin and have deselected "Include post content in digest emails" but the content appears anyway. I also receive emails even though "Enable subscription digests" is deselected. Am I missing something? "Force digest emails (if enabled)" is deselected as well. I'm sure what is going on. I have removed and reinstalled the plugin to no avail. I cleared my browser cache when disabling the subscription digest. Please help.

Thank you.

Before I start spending too much time digging into code and setting up tests - and as this is the only report of such behaviour - can we check a couple of things first..

So - are you speaking as a forum admin? And are you sure you are referring to subscription emails or could you be confusing them with the admin new post notification emails (Admins > Your Admin Options)?

I am speaking as a forum admin, but I do not have post notification emails enabled.

My users have been complaining about the same thing. I set-up a test member (with separate email address) to troubleshoot and the content keeps coming. I tested enabling/disabling "include post content". When did not work, I tried enabling/disabling subscription digests and the emails w/post content keep coming in all scenarios.

If you think you'll need access to my forum, please let me know so I can clear it with my client.

NOTE: I meant to say "I'm NOT sure what is going on" in my 1st inquiry :)

OK. Understood. I am unaware of any known issues - we certainly don't have any other reports of such behaviour. We will need to look at the current code to see if we can figure any way this might happen. And we will need to discuss it here as well.

If we need a link to the site or an access account we will ask.

can you verify the version of the subscriptions plugin you are using?  and post a screenshot of your current subscriptions options panel in the admin?

I am using Version 1.3.6 (just upgraded the plugin and WP to 3.8 and SP to 5.4) and ran the same troubleshooting test and got the same results. I have attached a screenshot of the admin subscriptions options panel. Auto subscribe is also deselected. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thank you.SubscriptionDigests-1.pngImage Enlarger

I am a little confused by some of the discussion here...

if you are not using digest emails for subscription, it will ALWAYS include the post content...  there is no option to turn that off (the option only applies to digests)...  you can use a filter to remove the content...

and with subscriptions, you will always receive an email... you cannot turn them off... that is the point of subscriptions...  you and your users do have options for email on each subscribed topic/forum or a digest...

you have digests enabled, but its optional... each user will now determine whether to receive notification on each post (with content) or to receive a digest email (content or not determined by the option you have off)...

so wondering if you are confusing the 'normal' subscription notification for each post subscribed to (with content) and the optional digests...  if you want users to always get digests, you must use the force digest option... then users cannot get the each post notification (with content) and will get digests with content by option...  otherwise, its up to users as to whether to get individual emails or the single digest email...

Hmmm...I definitely did not understand the difference between 'normal' subscription notifications and optional digests. I had read in the "Help" pop-up about being able to have an option to receive digests, but I was unsure of what it exactly meant and how it related to subscriptions in general. So I appreciate the explanation, Steve. I can now better inform my users of their options.

Thanks again.

You're welcome. Glad we got there in the end!
