I'm not seeing any SP widgets in my appearance/widgets admin area, even after the plugin is installed and activated. Latest version of Genesis and Agency child theme. WP 3.8.2

I wish it was...but it ain't. ;-)

Killed all plugins - didn't help.

I did see an error in the log - any way to go private here? Or, I can send the error via email.

You can use a private message if you prefer. Please send your PM to both myself and to 'Mr Papa'. Please include in the PM a link to this thread and brief reminder of the problem.

Figured it out.

Looks like I had a copy of the plugin already. When I downloaded the file again, it added (1) to the end of the filename (before the extension: filename(1).zip

So, when I chose that file to upload and install, sp choked. It showed the file was instaled in the CP, but the error log said the directory couldn't be found.

Deleted the plugin from the CP, reinstalled the correct;y named plugin and it works fine - the widget is there now.

Seems like this could be an issue for more people...

Thanks for the help..and the kick-a## product!

Not sure what CP is...  but yes, this is a limitation of the wp uploader... if the archive or directory already exists, wp appends a -x (x is number) to it...  have tried to change the behavior of the wp uploader, but short of just rewriting all the code, not much we can do...  though I thought in the latest version we tried to prevent activation of the plugin or something.. will have to look back...
