Hey Mr Papa, Shari and everyone else.

I'm dying to use the tagging plugin, but alas I'm having the same issues.

I've just launched my site and it would be really handy to get people using the forum and chatting to each other.

Is it possible to fall back to the earlier SP version (where TinyMCE) wasn't being used or indeed get cracking with the tagging/mentions plugin Mr Papa? :)

Thanks,

Gavin

Hi Gavin, you can use the tagging if you don't want TinyMCE, it's when you need or want both. I haven't yet had the time to find out if I can revert to an older version of SP after running the newer versions. I know that they will work together at previous versions, as it was working, and it's still working on the WL Insider forum..

I know that there were changes made in the database on the update, I just don't know if it'll break to go back. If you do it, and it works let us know laugh

I don't think that going back would really be that possible. There would be lots of data changes to unpick one by one.
I will leave Mr Papa to comment on the 'mention'...

hope to spend some time this weekend on it...  would be worth it if sp users can get rid of the problematic wishlist tags! ;) cool

good news on the mentions plugin front...  have a basic plugin working now... if all goes well, hope to have a beta version ready for testing this weekend...

if interested, drop us a note here and will let you know when its ready...   need to square away some IE issues (so typical of that damn browser)...

okay, a couple days later than hoped but here is a beta version of our new Simple Press Mentions plugin...  upload however you load sp plugins and then activate from the sp plugins panel...

there are a few options on forum - options - member settings...

if you want, look at the bottom of the main plugin file and you will find two template functions that you can also use...

unfortunately, the autocomplete popup in IE is not always positioned properly, but its functional... ;) spent more time trying to get IE right than the whole rest of the plugin - standard for the sub standard browser... twisted

If you download this and try it, please give us some feedback - good or bad...
