Should upload attachment work on mobile devices? Because it seems it doesn't.

Should I config something somewhere? I can't either see the tinymce editor in the mobile version, what about this?

Thanks

correct. tinymce currently does not work on mobile devices so its disabled. same for the file uploader. most mobile devices tend to have limited js support. sorry. have been trying to think about a simple file uploader fallback, but none seem to be able to insert into content so would have to just show as an attachment... and beyond that, problems to solve.

I found something that might be helpful.

We tried switching to desktop user agent, from several mobile devices, and we found out that Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy S2 work just fine, the successfully uploaded a picture in the editor.

So it's there a way to force showing uploader in the mobile version too? it's pity to pre-emptively hide it, maybe mobile OS will solve it soon...

thanks!

So what about the tinymce editor? Did that function correctly as well? It has been a couple of months since I last tested it. And the problem has actually been with the mobile browsers - which, hopefully are improving all of the time and building in more support for standards and protocols.

it does work for those which had the uploader working as well. (HTC Desire to add to the list of working devise).

But it actually doesn't work for the others.

maybe an inline "editor type switch" close to the editor could be a solution.

I'll keep you posted in case things change ;)

It is really the browsers that are worth looking at as opposed to the devices themselves. Although having said that, browsers may be dependent on primitive functions supplied by the device OS... of that I am unsure.
