ok - the reset permissions was a problem with database access so I sorted this out on the server and clicked on reset permissions again.
We still have the same issue with the authcat ids, as described above, the only 'Uploaded' permission I can see is the Avatar.

really struggling to understand what is going on here... any chance you can provide us with a temp wp admin account with sp admin capabilities? think we need a closer look... if that works, please send the details via pm to yellow swordfish, mr papa and brandonc and link to this topic so we know what its about...

upgrade? what version were you on? several of the latest plugins for sp require 5.2.2... so if you were on older sp version, that might have been part of the problem...

I was on whatever version was available on the website as of Nov 2012.
I have now upgraded to 5.2.2 and have also upgraded all the plugins.
I have reset the permissions again just to be on the safe side.
I am receiving the following warning, but I guess this is because I need to restablish all the permissions on each forum:
Warning - There are no usergroups with members that have permissions on forum: Trade Secrets This forum may only be visible to SP admins
But, it is still not working. Same problem. I can only see 'Upload Avatars' in the 'Uploading' section of the permissions.
I will now set all my permissions back up as I need to get my forum back online.

I see there are credentials I can use to take a look but before that could we try that one other thing we tried before. Can you deactivate the uploader plugin and then reactivate it. if this doesn't bring the permissions for uploading back into play I will come across and take a look...
