mmm the tmp setting has no value so that means the default I believe. Hopefully Steve can confirm that.
I did have two questions. (1) How quickly does this return message appear? Is it instantly or after a long wait? and (2) what, exactly, is the file name you are trying to upload?

I think empty will default to /tmp
but you could always do a php function call sys_get_temp_dir() to find out explicitly what its set to...
but if I understand, you can upload fine in general, just not this one powerpoint file? or is that wrong?

yes. at this point, I believe we have not even move the file from its php temp file upload location - and done no image processing... so I believe its something in the php upload process.

might be worth knowing which runtime was used by plupload... maybe we can try a different one...
however over the plupload icon/graphic thingy in the upper left of the file uploader and see what title popups up and report it here please...

dear mr. papa,
i do not exactly understand what you mean. therefore i attach an schreeenshot while uploading a file.
for me and i'm not a software expert, it is important to find a solution, at least i should know where's the root of the problem (forum plugin or server limitations).
thank you in advance
Steve made a simple typo! The 'however' should have been 'hover' - as in:
hover (the mouse cursor) over the plupload icon/graphic thingy in the upper left of the file uploader and see what title pops up and report it here please…
He means that round graphic with the sort of cross in it...
