I've purchased 4 different plugins and I can't get any of them to install.  I'm using the SP plugin uploader and I have also tried using the normal wordpress plugin uploader.

Unpacking the package...
Installing the plugin...

Could not create directory. /home/retro/public_html/wp-content/sp-resources/forum-plugins/tinymce-richtext-3/

SP Plugin install failed

Return to SP plugins page

Notice: Unable to remove the uploaded plugin zip archive: /home/retro/public_html/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/tinymce-richtext-3.zip

It appears that perhaps your server permissions are such that new directories cannot be installed...  when you visit forum - integration - storage location, what do you get for plugins?  one green and one blue mark?

just an fyi, but its actually WordPress trying to install the plugins (using their class)...

so depends on answer to first question, but might be worth checking the permissions and ownership (uid and gid) of the sp-resources directory in wp-content... and comparing it to the wp-content directory...

Looks like it is a permissions issue. What should I set the permissions at?

For sp-resources and subdirs below it, best just to mimic what you have for wp-content...  both permissions and ownership (uid and gid) if necessary...  typically, its 0755 for dirs, but can vary based on server setup...

Okay I got it figured out, now Im getting another error.

"The folder name of this plugin has become corrupted - probably due to multiple downloads. Please remove the -2 at the end of the folder name. The proper folder name should be plupload"

I have only downloaded this plugin once. The folder names are correct there is no "-2".  The zip file is plubload.zip  Im getting similar error with the other plugins.

so in sp-resources/forum-plugins, you only have a single folder called plupload (you may have other pluigns but just looking for file uploader related stuff)?  of course there should be no zip there only the extracted folders/files...  and no other variation of plupload?

and when you look at permissions and ownership, it matches wp-content and sp-resources and forum-plugins?

glad to help...

on some fringe case server set ups (dont read that as wrong), when we (or other plugins) try to create those directories at install, we dont get or cannot get the right info for directories... so when they are created, they end up wrong...  most wp plugins dont create directories for storage so would never come up...

enjoy!  come on back with new topics if you have more issues or questions getting going...
