you are getting errors trying to load them...  so check your permissions...  its loading the js fine in the jscript library, but not in the lower one...  are the owners and permissions the same?

Owner and Group are the same. This is the perms that are applying to everything in the plugin directory:

next step might be talking to your host...  use the link I gave you several posts back about the network errors...  the files cannot be opened by the web user...  yet the ones in the directory above can...  you can see any of the js or css links by viewing the page source too...  click on the link and it should load a textual view of them...

for some reason you are getting 404 errors on those files despite them being there...

assume you looked at sp-resources too since some servers were setting those wrong, but would not expect some to be accessible but not others...

at a bit of a loss as to why your server is allowing access to some and not others...

Bingo!

And... no, I have no idea. I just went in and re-uploaded each of the folders again (3rd time) and for some reason it started working. Damndest thing I've ever dealt with.

Cheers and thanks for drilling down into this with me.

Cheers,

Gerard

Hi Guys,

I have just installed Simple-Press V5 and associated plugins.

The one I was really looking for is the 'File Uploader (using Plupload)', which I now have installed.

After fixing a jQuery issue, the loader is now showing up (though certainly nothing like the one here). Clicking the 'Upload Attachments' reveals the file types, as per the attached image below, but nothing else. There seems to be no way to activate the upload mechanism.

Any idea what gives?

You can visit the test topic here

Hello there !

I encounter exactly the same issue than Gerard Thomas had, but, despite the fact that I have read the whole topic I'm not able to have the "file uploader" working on my forum !

The Attachment button just fold/unfold the informations about size, constraints, etc.. but the file uploader doesn't show up !
I don't know much about PHP nor JS, but I checked my page to see if there were some Google JQuery references somewhere, but I didn't find some !

Does someone have an advice for me ?

Thanks in advance !

check forum - integration - storage locations and make sure you have valid locations for uploads...

have you given users permission to upload?

and you may have a js conflict... would need a link to your site to investigate that...

Hello Mr Papa !

Thanks for replying so soon !

The Upload location is currently set to sp-resources/forum-image-uploads

About the users permission to upload ! Yes I did it (I mean, I believe I did it well !)

Here is a link to a test forum I have created for this purpose http://replica-3d.fr/forum/test/

I set the permission to upload even for the guests, but when I try to post as a guest, the upload attachment button is not shown for a reason I don't understand, if needed I could create a Member account for you !!

Because my Forum is in french, you would see the "Upload attachments" button labeled as "Pièces jointes uploadées" (what is not a correct translation, but I will fix that later)

couple things...  one guests cannot upload, so I cant really see...

I can say I see no obvious js issues, but the file uploader js is not loaded...

If you want to shoot me a temp account credentials via pm, I can take a closer look...  the account should be an sp admin (forum - admins - manage admins)..
