Support Forum
love hosting support... probably shared at that... 😉
if it was a general plugin issue, I suspect we would have more than one user with the problem...
Anyways, to look anymore, we would need to get a closer look ourselves... watch the ajax responses and http headers and such... we can take this closer look if you can send us (both yellow swordfish and mr papa) a temp wp admin account with sp admin caps via pm... we might also need ftp access to upload some debug code... if that works, please link to this topic in the pm so we know what its about... understand it thats not doable...

I think you should perhaps be a little angry as well. If you asked them the questions I suggested you ask (mod_security and the brackets in the url) and that was their answer (safe_mode) then I would be looking for a new host this morning!
Anyway - we will wait to hear from you regarding Steve's request.

Well if you read through the whole thread you will see that the user seemed to disappear and I do not readily recall a PM conversation taking place (although if such a PM contained credentials it would have been deleted at the time).
Have you checked through the suggestions and questions raised in this thread? I.e., folder name, folder permissions and ownership, mod_securty etc., in case any do actually apply?

I did indeed read through the whole thread. This is why I asked if there was a resolution, thinking perhaps it was done outside of the forum. Since I just paid the member fee to get this plug in and access support I thought maybe this was an issue for others as well.
My host says that mod security is enabled since it is shared hosting, they cannot disable for security. The rest mentioned is all in place as far as folders, permissions etc.
mmm mod-security is the bane of every developers existence. The really important thing to ask - if they do have it enabled - is would it be throwing out the tinymce activation url. I don't know what you know but mod_security works by pattern matching so if a suspect pattern in your hosts list was matched to the activation url then it would stop the url being requested and that will throw a 404 error. I think we must stay focused on the fact that 404 does mean the server can not find the file.
So if you could ask them if the activation url - which you can get by hovering over the link - is at risk from their specific set of patterns (and there no grand list we can look at) then that needs to be established.
And worth noting that as far as I am aware you are just the second with this issue which does, to me, suggest an environmental issue.
