Why SimplePress losses Permalinks

SimplePress randomly lose Permalinks when Wordpress plugins are updated.  I have to click on Update SimplePress Pemalinks under Integration.  Why does it lose Permainks?

To be honest I have absolutely no idea. This would be a unique report.

is this any specific plugin being updated or any and all plugins?

particularly any that might have url rewrite rules too...  when rules are added, the old ones need to be flushed and plugins allowed to add theirs in...  using the api, supports this...  not using the api, might be problematic...
