Hello All

I am new here and have not had any previous experience with Simple:Press. It is looking good so far.

My question relates to having a WYSIWYG editor available in the admin side of the forum to make it easier to add links in the 'Special group message to be displayed above forums' and 'Special forum message to be displayed above topics' sections when creating boards and forums. I would be able to use HTML but I doubt that the people managing the site would have the knowledge.

My aim is to have links in here to refer people to other boards and forums which would be related.

e.g.

The Abdomen

↔  see also: Intestinal Problems

↔  see also: Kidney and Urinary Tract Problems

↔  see also: Liver Problems

↔  see also: Spleen Problems

↔  see also: Pain - Abdominal Pain

I have paid for all the plugins and currently have TinyMCE editor installed but it is not available through the admin side.

If there is a better way to do this I would also appreciate any advice.

Regards

Michael

No, the tinymce plugin only adds it to the front end...  sorry, but we dont have any facility for adding tinymce editor to any of the admin fields...

but simply enter the html for the links...

Thank you Mr Papa

This is not good news for me. I now have to create a lot of boards and forums and the do the HTML :-(

Is there an Alpha Index available of some way to create one?

A|B|C|D|E links that would do a search for forums starting with that letter?

Regards Michael

No.

If you want to put the same text on every forum view regardless of which forum is being shown then you might prefer the option of adding the text to the WordPress page that the forum displays on. Any text entered into the actual page will be displayed at the top of the forum.

Is there a reason why whenever images that are uploaded to my forum are copied and saved to the desktop, that they are downsampled to 72dpi?

may need Andy here in the AM as he is our graphics guru...  but, we dont alter the images like that...  might be a windows setting?  or server setting?

what are they when you upload them?  are the images getting resized by your upload settings when uploaded?  if so, are you changing the image quality?  these settings are all on forum - components - file uploader settings...

Images are typically uploaded at a range of 150-300dpi.

The settings on Components>File Uploads are set to the following:

  • Image Quality of Resized Images: 100
  • Image Quality of Thumbnails: 100
  • Maximum Size of Thumbnails: 80

So the next obvious question has to be - following an upload what is the dpi of the resultant file on the web server?
