I'm guessing this would take a theme hack, so I'm posting in this forum. Please feel free to move if it belongs elsewhere... (FYI: We use a Reboot child theme.)
We're getting more and more international users, and one recently asked:
if I could make one suggestion: would it be possible to show not just the two names of the time zones (footer, tripawds timezone, your timezone) but rather the actual time that the site is on?? It would make things a lot easier, especially with the chat, to know when somebody actually posted something. I have a general idea of how late it is in Denver right now but then comes daylight saving time, me having to do math...
no seriously: if it's easy to do it would make life simpler for us people from overseas.
I told her easy is relative, but I have no idea where to begin if this is possible. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Disregard the the "chat" comment, that's in reference to our Live Chat on a separate page built using a different plugin.

OK, I figured out how to display current server time using current_time...
Just wondering now if there might be away to show current user's time.

Not sure why they don't know there time either.
But, if they have properly filled out their timezone in their SP profile you could offset the current time by their timezone and display their current time in addition to the server time.

We're clearly all on the same page here. The user thought it useful to know what the time time on the site was at any given time (Server time), which I have already implemented on our Chat page—really the only place it mattered.
Thanks for confirming I'm not the dense one in thinking this was a rather "interesting" request.
