#2 you wont get it from buddypress directory... it would come from the database...

thats how you display it in topic view...  whether the data comes from sp profile or buddypress profile...  of course, for latter,  you need the new plugin to display and save the info on the buddypress profile...

its much simpler for profile view...  instead use this tag: 

sp_CustomProfileFieldsProfileDisplay($name, $userid=0, $label='')

and of course, replace $name, $userid and $label like you did before...  In this case, for use, use $spProfileUser->ID
