Two more questions
1. How do I decrease the height of the bar where my group name appears ?

The height of the blue bar where group name GMAT is written is a little thick for my liking, I want to make it sleek . Something on the lines on this forum

2. How do I remove all those buttons at the top of the forum area. like "Logged on as a guest","members list" etc as they are eating up the top space and will make a user scroll down a lot. I just want the "Advanced search" option to there(possibly in the form of a button as in the link above). And also want to have "Newly/Recently updated topics" .
The first is controlled by the CSS padding surrounding the icon. By default #spMainContainer .spHeaderName is set with a padding of 5px top and bottom. So you can lessen the padding in the stylesheet of your SP theme or - make the icon smaller of course! Or both...
As to the buttons at the top you will need to look in the spHead.php template and you will see the different display items - each with it's own tag. Remove or comment out which ones you do not want.
