Changing font-size in winter.php (Unified)

Hi,

I've tried to change the font-size on my winter-overlay (Unified) because I find it to small for the rest of my site.
I opened the winter.php and changed $baseFontSize to 104%
When I refreshed my site only text was showing and no background-colors, boxes etc.
The weird thing is, that when I set is back to 100%, it's still just text on my site.
I have cleared the cache, changed the wordpress theme, but the only thing working is to upload the original winter.php file though it's identical to the one i changed back to $baseFontSize 100%
What am I doing wrong and how can I change the font-size in a prober way?

Sounds very much like you have created a fatal error in the php so it has stopped loading. Er... did you put the 104% in quotes and remember to include the semi-colon on the end. So it  reads:

$baseFontSize = '104%';

which should be just fine.

That's the strange thing about it. I just replaced 100 with 104.
I compared the original winter.php with the uploaded after changing it back so both were 100.
The comparison on diffchecker.com showed some invisible differences. Like spaces.
I have tried it a couple of times, but always end up copying the original.
Same result in Safari and Firefox.
Any chance the changes will show after some time? (though I can't see why) :-)

What did you edit it with?
And can I assume that you made NO other changes. No emty lines inserted top or bottom for example?

Content/sp-resources/Forum-themes/Unified/Styles/Overlays/Winter.php
Edited it in Mac TextEdit.
Hit backspace to delete "0" and replaced it with "4". Then saved. That's all!

I use TextEdit although not for code changes! Is it is plain text mode? If it is is rich text mode it will change all the quote marks for unusable ones which would cause a problem like this. Must be plain text.

Actually the easiest way to make edits like this is with the built in theme file editor in the forum admin.
