Hey Younes,
Currently the only info on child themes is this Blog Entry
It does however explain everything you should need to know.
Do ask if you have any further / specific questions!
not sure how to say what the article does differently...
like all sp themes, it goes in your sp theme directory (by default its wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes
you have to create the directory for your child and then add in (ie create) the files you want in order to change the behavior of the parent... They function nearly the same as a wp child theme...
if you prefer, you can make your own theme by copying one of ours: https://simple-press.com/docum.....g-a-theme/

thank you
just to be clear, that link I gave you and you posted back is not a child theme... its on how to create a full blown sp theme...

I also created the child theme (wp-content/sp-resources/forum-themes/default child), then I copied the default theme directory in default child. Finally I modified the file sptheme by putting this:
Simple:Press Theme Title: Default child
Parent: default
Version: 1.2.9
Theme URI: https://simple-press.com
Description: The Simple:Press default theme featuring traditional forum layout with numerous color layout options
Author: Andy Staines, Steve Klasen and Brandon C
Author URI: https://simple-press.com/custo.....very-need/
Stylesheet: my-child.css

Simple:Press Versions: 5.5.1 and above
Parent: default
Version: 1.2.9
Theme URI: https://simple-press.com

you would go to forum - themes - theme list and select to use your child theme now...
