Good Morning,
After updating my site to 5.5.0.1 this morning my custom theme no longer works correctly. The drop down boxes are not present (New / Updated Topics and Select Forum) and I'm unable to add a reply to a topic.
I have disabled the custom theme and css-only theme without issue.
I would appreciate it if you guys can help me out with this when you have a moment. My site is danwessonforum.com.

The problem is coming from the user group list display, although I'm not sure why at the moment.
If you could go to your theme folder, then templates and open spFoot.php. To temporarily get you by, please comment out line 66 with two // before the function.
Should then read:
//sp_UserGroupList('tagClass=spLeft spUserGroupList&postCount=0', 'VIPs: ', 10);This will at least allow you to use your theme while it's looked into.

we will investigate further, but what version did you come from? there was no changes in 5.5.0.1 from 5.5 that could affect site display...
we always post any theme changes in our codex: https://simple-press.com/docum.....n/changes/
the vast majority of time, the changes are not required, but we post them in case its required...

Not sure what is going on and have passed it over to Ike... But that function causing you problems, sp_UserGroupList(), does not exist in SP version 5.5.0.1... Nor did it exist in version 5.5 or any earlier version... so not sure how it could have worked previously...
If I had to guess, I would say to get your custom theme active, Ike added the file to your SP core files in the anticipation that it would be in the next release of Simple Press (5.5.1)... However, the critical security release 5.5.0.1 would not have it (and was unplanned)...
So Ike should be able to answer that in the AM when he is back...

That was me. Not anticipating there would need to be an interim security update. The function IS in version 5.5.1 code.
i am away but if someone could cut Jody a special common functions file it would be useful.

There was also a code issue in the code that I fixed for Ike tonight in the new routine... so he should be able to get you an updated function to include in your custom theme tomorrow... or we expect wp 4.0 and thusly sp 5.5.1 to release in next week or two...
