Is there anyway that you can limit the length (number of words) of the link displayed by spInRowLastPostLink so that the spGroupForumSection does not exceed a fixed height? For instance instead of displaying the last post topic as 'A test post to see how the group view handles a very long topic title' it could display 'A test post to see...' Maybe I can limit the number of characters available to a member when entering a topic title? Probably be easier!
This V5.0 forum is so flexible it will take you guys an age to document it all!
Last query from me, I've stayed up all night again!

Yes - I am worried about the documentation. We are way behind on that one.
Now this is an interesting one. Normally I would suggest using the filters that we supply that allow you to take any displayed value and further manipulate it prior to the final display. These filters are available on every template function.
But I would also say that I can see this might be something that crops up often and am wondering whether we should build in a little support for it in the function parameters.... I will need to discuss this with Steve and Brandon and I couldn't promise getting it in place quickly but give us a day to talk it over.

Thanks Andy but bear in mind that a title has to be pretty huge before this becomes an issue. I'd say limiting the number of characters in a title is the way to go. It can be a pretty large number I should expect. Perhaps search for your longest title in the history of this forum and see if that would cause the effects that I'm taking about.
Of course the 'blah blah......' covers every eventuality.

The biggest problem comes down to the use of proportional fonts. You can only do this sort of thing by truncating to a specified number of characters - not by how many pixels it takes up on the display. So - a topic title with lots of w's is going to always be a lot longer than a title with lots of i's

Hi Andy
Im getting truncating views on this link http://dindepression.dk/behand…..ykkepiller
Where do I change it so URLs do not get truncated?
Kind regards
Philip
forum - options - content settings...
might be worth looking at the options and components settings to see what is available... each template tag also has numerous options though we are just starting to populate our new codex with that info...
