I tested this on a local server and a remote server and get the same result - the forum as part of a Wordpress site has a 'hard' refresh going from page to page. The entire site goes blank for about 1/2 second transitioning from one page to another. Is this typical of an embedded forum?

I used phpBB some time ago and don't recall such harsh page transitions.

I'm asking about this because the WP site itself has zero refresh from page to page while the forum has an obvious page refresh.

Not sure why it would actually go blank briefly - that is not something we get here I believe.

But yes - comparing a standalone forum application that does nothing else - like phpBB - with a forum plugin running in a CMS framework like WordPress van not be made. They are very different beasts.

I would suggest watching the http headers and see if there any redirections occurring...
