Now for some reason after updating to this new version when I click add topic I am not getting a full width box to write
a topic???? Why

that is a standard textarea editor... so its not designed for full width... though you can change it with css...
were you using tinymce before?? did you update all your sp plugins when you update? if so, please go to forum - components - editor and see if your tinymce options are still there...

The cancel button does not even work, but it was there before I upgraded and yes I upgraded all the plugins after upgrading.

Yes I was using tinymce and under forum-components editor there are options there
