Hide Rank Names?

Good evening,
how can I hide the Rank Names which are displayed in the topic view? I just want to use the rank badges instead.

need to get you to start looking at the code! 
when you call the template tag for the rank, just set showTitle=0 in the argument list...

I tried this, but it doesn't work for me. 
And, by the way, how can I center the whole "User Section" on the left side?
