How to change themes

Hi team

I have used the Default theme for a few years and am now considering changing to the Unified or Reboot theme. I don’t have any CSS customization, just use a lot of your SP plugins.

I believe I have had a good look around your Forums, FAQ and Codex and haven’t been able to locate any specific instructions on how to change SP themes. I’m expecting there may be some pitfalls or things to be aware of before, during and after a theme change, though haven’t found references to any.

Are the some instructions on this matter I have missed?

There is a whole page on using themes – https://simple-press.com/documentation/codex/themes/theme-basics/using-themes/

But to be frank – once you have installed a theme in the right location all you do is go to the forum admin themes panel and choose the one you want to use. The ONLY thing that changes on your system is the theme –  we make no other data changes etc.

And Barebones – our latest addition – also has a small customisation tool for setting colours…

Thanks for this info.
I did see that page, thought wasn’t sure if there was any extra precautions I needed to be aware of, if I was changing from one long-term used theme to another new one, apart from just selecting it from the Themes menu.
I now appreciate it is a very easy switch over.
