How to restore database to earlier version?

Don't know how it happened, but I get this notice when trying to upgrade Simple Press:

"Downgrade Warning
It appears you are attempting to downgrade your Simple:Press Version. The Build or Version number in the sp-control.php file is lower than the currently installed version in the database.

You must restore your database to this earlier version before you can continue. You cannot simply downgrade Simple:Press files as the database has been upgraded beyond the version you are attempting to downgrade to and may cause irreparable damage to the database."

My Simple Press version is 5.7.5.1
SPBUILD is 14770

In the database the sfversion is 5.7.5.2.

Where do I get 5.7.5.1 and how do I restore the SP database?  I see previous versions at https://simple-press.com/docum.....-versions/ but only up to 5.7.1

Thanks

why do you want to downgrade versions?  there was almost no change between those two, so not sure why you want to downgrade...

I would recommend downloading the latest 5.7.5.2 version from our site here and uploading to your server...  all will be well...

if you have specific reason for wanting to go back to 5.7.5.1, we can talk through some other options but it will be much harder than just using the latest version...

Thanks for your help.  But all I know is the instructions in the above warning said, "You must restore your database to this earlier version before you can continue."

But I'll sure jump on simply uploading the latest version 5.7.5.2 to the server.  Clearly, I'm not a database developer so I hope you'll bear with me.  How should I do this-- with FTP into the WP content > plugins folder or just by using "Add new plugin" from the WP dashboard.

Thanks in advance.

the message says if you want to continue with the older version of simple press, 5.7.5.1, than you were previously running, you would have to downgrade the db too... the db would have to come from one of your backups...

grab the zip archive of the version you previously were running (in this case its the latest in our store for free)...  extract it on your computer... you will end up with a folder called simple-press... it will contain many other folders and files...  ftp this simple-press folder (and its contents) to your server in the wp-content/plugins folder...  Tell it to overwrite the existing folders/files...

that should be it...
