This thread is focused towards the forum SA doing his/problem-with-post-edit-buttoner part to make sure members can keep up to speed with what Forums topics that have been written in or new topics that have been created.
From the SA point of view, what have you guys used that has worked the best in your opinion, such as fiddling with the topic icons (before&after) as well as different types of themes in order to keep members up to speed with what forums have been replied to or where topics have been created? Thoughts?
Some thoughts.. No particular order...
Sidebar/footer recent posts type widgets on all WP pages helps
Sub menu's under main forum Admin menu like Recent posts and Unaswered post makes them easy to find
Sub Menus under main forum menu to go directly to popular forums helps.
Some sites like the new/recent post list at the top of group view instead of the bottom.
I have one site that I have a recent posts list popup over the top of the forum whenever there are new topics for a particular user. Maybe a little overkill.
Highlighting and explaining to members what subscriptions and watches are.
Different forum icons when there are unreads in the forum for users to see right away which forum has new posts might help.
