Just getting my site ready to go live. I have 5 groups under which there are numerous forums. Some test users say that don't like seeing all the list of forums open as its kind of overwhelming. Is there a way of minimising these upon opening the page so that if a user wants to see the list of forums they need to click on the "Open Forum Listing" button?
And is it possible to change the colour of the icon as in the theme I'm using is pretty hard to see.

All of our supplied themes come with a group open/close icon in the group heading (on the right). If I recall correctly these also set a cookie for each individual user so that there preferences at last use will be used at their next visit.
Assuming you meant he Group Icon - although the same applies to Forum icons - then you can use any icon of your choice. Just upload them in the Custom Icons section of the admin and select them when creating or editing a Group or Forum.

but if you had your own theme for some time, you may have missed all the changelogs and updates that announced that change... so you may have to add it to your theme

That's fine if there is a cookie, but is there not a way to load the groups "closed" so that the user must manually open them the very first time they view the page.
I wasn't talking about the Group icon, I have already changed all them, I'm talking about the Open/Close triangle button, which on the Overlay I'm using is not very obvious.

yes. the second link I gave you details the arguments to the template tag... just send 'default' as 'closed'...
