Hello everyone,

I have enabled mobile and tablets themes in the configuration, however when I visit my site on tablets and phones I still see the desktop version, additionally in the mobile themes area of the configuration the mobile themes listed are the same as the same ones listed for desktops, I'm definitely missing something, how do I turn mobile support on?

Thanks in advance!

Hey DewFL,

Just taking mobile for example (Tablet works the same) it gives you the choice to use any of your themes for a dedicated mobile theme which is why you see the same list.

However currently we only have 2 themes that are responsive for mobile - Unified and Reboot, both can be identified as responsive themes by their theme picture which contains other devices.

So, if you're using Default already and are happy with that, you could go to 'Mobile Phone Theme' and select either Unified or Reboot to use on mobile.

And alternatively to that, both Unified and Reboot run on both desktop and mobile, so if using either of these you shouldn't need to set them to be dedicated mobile or tablet theme, they will just work.

Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot, it works now, however guests to the site see the red overlay regardless of me selecting blue as default, is this expected behavior? And if so can I change this?

It depends, how have you got it set up? For example are you using Default theme for desktop and Reboot theme for mobile, and have you set the overlay for both?

Have your users tried clearing their browser cache?

Also, are you running the 'Theme and Language Selector' plugin? If so this allows your users to select their own overlay which might be playing a part.

Thanks, will it still show the default theme selected by the administrator when a guest or registered user first logs in to the board and the "themes and language selector" is enabled?

The Theme Selector is a bit mis-named really. The user can not change the theme - just the colour overlay...

Yes, although as I said above it allows the user to select the overlay, just to make sure we're talking about the same thing!

So say you have it running and you are using Reboot theme with Blue overlay selected, the first time a user visits the forum they will see Reboot running blue, but if they change it I believe it's cookie based so whatever overlay they pick will stick for them locally.

Thanks both of you, yes I totally understand, I was talking the first time they log in, I understand they could select to change it and it will stick to their selection afterwards because of the cookie.

Yup that's correct.
