When i click on "edit member profile" and then click on any of the tabs: options, usergroups, permisions, watches.....it takes me out to a wordpress page.

You most probably have a JavaScript conflict - your wp theme or another plugin - which needs to be fixed. This codex article explains what this means and what to look for:

This is the most common reason although o0ther scripting errors can also occur of course. But in this case the AJAX is almost certainly not working...

These things can usually be fixed once the cause is pinpointed. Using a script console to report the error is the place to start.
