What do you actually see when going to /wp-admin? Are you getting a blank page or does it have any access denied text or similar shown?
whats your .htaccess file look like? and might be worth temp removing (rename via ftp or ssh) the w3 total cache... at least until you get access back...

Hi Mr Papa,
RE: .htaccess file
I don't know how to answer your question. I'm looking at it but I don't know what to say in regards to what it looks like. Am I looking for anything in particular?
RE: my current problem
In an attempt to create my own theme for edits, I downloaded, renamed then re-uploaded my theme. I then very carefully went through each and every step in the Creating Your Own Theme walk-through and my whole forum stopped working. So I deleted my copy only, not my original (all original theme files are still intact), I just deleted my copy. And still… nothing. The result is that I can no longer access my wp-admin and my forum is gone.
I really don't know how this could have happened when I haven't changed any of the stock sp v5 files. Any help here is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I was able to re-gain access to my wp-admin by deactivating the SP v5 plugin from my database. The forum however still doesn't work. From the forum admin panel, the is what is says:
"Either the theme CSS file and/or color Overlay file from the selected theme is missing"
I don't know how this could have happened since I never touched any of my stock theme files. Any ideas on what to do and how to fix this are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
If SP is deactivated, no way you should be getting that message... it can only come from SP... did you reactivated it and just leave that step out in the post???
look on forum - integration - storage locations and see where the theme directory is supposed to be located... then verify its there with all the css and overlays on your server...

I'm sorry that I left that fact out. Yes, I re-activated the plugin and updated to v5.0.1.
Upon review of the storage location and my server, everything is where it should be. I still get the message in the SP admin panel:
"Either the theme CSS file and/or color Overlay file from the selected theme is missing"
On the front end, I get this message:
"[spGroupView.php] - Template File Not Found
This can be caused by a missing/corrupt theme or theme file. Please check the Simple:Press Theme List admin panel and make sure a valid theme is selected. Or please check the location of the selected theme on your server and make sure the theme and the required template file exist."
Any ideas?
so it all gets back to the sp-resources directory... it seems not readable by the web user...
so check permissions and owner...
