I would first go to Forum Admin >
check where it shows the theme folder to be and make sure no red/orange button is displayed. Then if you want to upload the css-ony theme manually got to your /forum-themes folder, create a css-only folder and copy the extracted zip files into it.

Thanks for the last instructions. I checked and all the locations are set with no red/orange. I uploaded the css-only under forum-themes. Do I need to set something else?
did you ever switch to the css only theme... just download the zip from our theme download page - dont change the name - and upload via the forum - themes - upload theme admin panel...

Ok, after doing a manual upload (as the default install put it somewhere else), then activating the theme, I think it is working! Thank you all!
Could you expand on your statement that 'the default install put it somewhere else' please as in post #12 you seemed to imply that you had uploaded to the correct place so it would be useful for us to know if there is a problem of some sort here...
As to the base font size then this is inherited from your WordPress site theme but can be changed in the CSS file. Quite near the top in the section named 'Main Section classes' is the opening base #spMainContainer rules which sets the font-size to 100%. Making this percentage bigger will scale up all text content within the forum container.
As always we recommend that you create your own SP theme so that any customisation is not lost during a future update. (http://codex.simple-press.com/.....g-a-theme/)

Thank you. I think I first tried to load the plugin from the Wordpress plugin installer. I then went to the Forum admin and tried to re-install it. In both cases it went to: /problem-with-post-edit-buttonome/content/63/5613563/problem-with-post-edit-buttontml/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/css-only.zip
I had to manually copy the files as directed above. Thanks,
Diane

This did not seem to work. http://www.dianedandeneau.com/.....ges/forum/
Other ideas?
Everything goes to the 'uploads' folder. It depends where you started the procedure from as to where it ends up. WordPress is responsible for then copying it to the correct location.
OK - what doesn't work? Do you mean the font size? Because when I click that link and visit your site I am seeing a font size of 160 pixels. Or 'huge' to put it another way.
I think you perhaps need to clear your browser cache after CSS changes!

Ha! I thought I refreshed, and then see my typo of 2000%. Got it!
thanks,
Diane
